Everything seems to go right for Florence Cassandre, a sharp and skilled cop whose formidable methods push her through the ranks to a top post on the Paris police force. But the charming police captain is also a mother, first and foremost. Cassandre goes against her best career interests and accepts a transfer so she can be near her son Jules, who’s been put into a high school for juvenile offenders. She takes over as the police chief in the town of Annecy, where her new colleagues give the Parisian with a haughty attitude a cold shoulder. Cassandre is afraid the slow pace in the sleepy town will leave her bored, but her preconceptions are quickly dashed! The crimes come rolling in non-stop: on Lake Annecy, where a body is found floating in a paragliding sail; in her son’s school, where Jules is among the potential suspects on the trails around the frozen lakes of Chamrousse, at an altitude of 8,200 feet, where a family is cold-bloodedly murdered; outside a renowned clinic, where Cassandre’s right-hand man Captain Roche is shot down by a madman on a motorcycle. The landscape changes dramatically from Paris to Annecy, but the criminal investigations are just as exciting and just as complicated to unravel. The fact that Cassandre doesn’t gel with her new team makes things that much harder. But they’ll have to break the ice and learn to work together, so they can find the culprit in each new episode.
